Interim Executive Director

2026

Second Quarter (April-June 2026)

As we head into summer, I’d like to share a few highlights from across Interim. Over the past several months, we have seen continued progress across our programs, strong collaboration with our partners, and meaningful impact in the lives of those we serve throughout Monterey County.

Workforce

In June, more than 170 staff members gathered at Toro Park for Interim’s Staff Recognition and Training Day. The day brought together learning, connection, and celebration, with great music and food, activities, a sound bath experience, and staff awards recognizing contributions across the agency.

Thank you to Board President, Alan Stumpf, for joining us and helping honor our team.

Programs & Services

Our residential programs, including Manzanita Monterey, Manzanita Salinas, and Bridge House, continue to deliver high-quality care and strong operational performance. Recent Community Care Licensing annual visits resulted in positive reviews with no deficiencies identified, reflecting the consistency and coordination across our teams.

Community & Partnerships

On May 29, OMNI hosted the 2026 Mental Health Service Recognition Awards and Consumer Art Show at Embassy Suites. Nearly 280 community members attended to recognize volunteers, service providers, consumers, and advocates advancing mental health services in Monterey County.

In June, OMNI also hosted its Summer Wellness Fair, bringing together more than 40 community organizations to provide resources and information in a carnival-like atmosphere. Community members enjoyed games, connections, and access to services, highlighting the strength of collaboration across Monterey County.

Looking Ahead

Planning is underway for The Hoedown: Island Style on October 24, our annual fundraising event supporting Marina Kai Apartments, Interim’s newest affordable supportive housing development. We look forward to bringing together supporters, partners, and community members for an exciting evening that supports expanded housing opportunities and continued impact.

Thank you for your continued support of Interim’s mission. I look forward to sharing more updates in the months ahead.

First Quarter (January-March 2026)

As we move through the early months of 2026, I wanted to share a few updates from across Interim. I am continually grateful for the dedication of our staff and the partnerships that help strengthen our work throughout Monterey County.

Workforce

10 Interim staff members will receive the Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI) Employee Retention Grant, each awarded $10,000 in recognition of their long-term service in direct care roles.

Programs & Services

Bridge House, Manzanita Monterey, Manzanita Salinas all successfully passed DHCS audits, with reviewers noting strong documentation, training practices, and quality care.
Interim participated in the 2026 Homeless Point-in-Time Count, an important effort that helps determine HUD funding for homelessness services in Monterey County.

Community & Partnerships

We are exploring a renovation partnership with the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) to enhance shared spaces at Manzanita Monterey or the Sandy Shores Community Room. Thank you Kevin Riley, Philanthropy Chair for IIDA, awarding us this opportunity.

Planning is underway for our 2026 Mental Health Service Recognition Awards & Consumer Art Show, taking place May 29th at the Embassy Suites. This event continues to be an important opportunity for community collaboration and recognition of volunteers and staff who are working to advance mental health services in our county. More details, including registration, are available in the Upcoming Events section below.

I look forward to sharing more updates in the coming months as we continue strengthening partnerships and expanding support for the communities we serve.
