Homeless Outreach and Services – Monterey County

Interim, Inc. provides homeless outreach services in Monterey County, engaging with individuals experiencing homelessness to offer community support, crisis engagement, and connections to housing and supportive resources.

MCHOME Program Overview

Our MCHOME program provides outreach, housing and intensive, integrated services to homeless adults with psychiatric disabilities.

The program emphasizes community outreach for unhoused individuals, meeting people where they are and offering support that is respectful, recovery-oriented, and trauma-informed.

The program model follows a ‘whatever it takes’ approach to moving people off the streets. Staff first work on establishing trust while persuading clients to accept shelter or housing. Safety in shelter or housing creates a strong foundation for recovery to succeed.

These efforts connect people with supportive services for homeless individuals, including access to resources and guidance on housing options.

MCHOME’s goal is to move homeless individuals with psychiatric disabilities off the street and into housing, permanently.
