Marina Kai Apartments: A New Supportive Housing Community Takes Shape
Marina Kai Apartments is moving into construction. This new permanent supportive housing community in Marina will provide safe, affordable housing for very low-income adults living with serious mental illness who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Marina Kai will pair stable housing with the supportive environment residents need to build greater stability, independence, and connection to the community.
The three-story development will include 23 studio apartments, one resident manager unit, shared community spaces, and on-site support offices designed to help residents build stability, independence, and long-term housing success.

With construction beginning soon, Marina Kai Apartments is moving from years of planning and partnership into reality. The existing four-unit residential building on the site will make way for a purpose-built permanent supportive housing community—creating new homes, stability, and opportunity for people in our community who need them most.

Why Supportive Housing Matters
Meet Merideth
Merideth was enrolled into Interim’s MCHOME homeless outreach program. At the time, she was homeless and living in her car. With support from Sun Rose Housing, she now lives independently in her own apartment.
“I struggled with the stigmas of mental health for a very long time. The pain and anguish were, at times, too much to bear. My mental illness made me homeless for nine months, and I had to face incredible struggles and obstacles. Then, I received the call to move into Interim housing, a gift that changed my world forever. For the first time in my life, I found a sense of belonging and learned how to live life to the fullest. The people at Sun Rose have inspired me to build a better life for myself and give back to others.”
