About the Legacy Award

The Legacy Award was established to honor individuals whose enduring contributions have made a lasting impact on Interim, Inc. and the people we serve.

Over the course of decades—these individuals have strengthened our work through service, leadership, advocacy, philanthropy, or a combination of contributions that reflect a deep and sustained commitment to our mission.

This award recognizes not a single moment, but a body of work that has shaped the agency over a lifetime.

Who Can Be Nominated

Nominations are open to individuals who have demonstrated a meaningful, long-term connection for a minimum of 20 years.

Nominees may include:

  • Current or former staff
  • Volunteers
  • Donors or supporters
  • Board or committee members
  • Community partners and advocates

Individuals may be nominated by others or may nominate themselves.
Both living and posthumous nominations are accepted.

What We Consider

The Legacy Award reflects the many ways individuals contribute to Interim’s mission. Contributions may include:

  • Long-term service or leadership within the organization
  • Volunteerism and community engagement
  • Financial support that strengthened programs or housing efforts
  • Advocacy for individuals living with mental illness and those experiencing homelessness
  • Contributions to program development, operations, or organizational growth

Nominees are not expected to meet every criterion. The focus is on the overall impact and lasting significance of their contributions.

We invite community members, staff, and partners to help us recognize individuals whose contributions have shaped Interim’s work over time.

Selected honoree(s) will be recognized at Interim’s annual fundraiser, Hoedown Island Style, on October 24.

Selection Process

Nominations are reviewed through a structured process that considers both the scope and impact of each individual’s contributions.

A review panel evaluates nominations and provides recommendations, with final selections made by Interim’s Development Committee.
