Interim’s Wellness Navigators First to Be Certified as Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialists in Monterey County

CONGRATULATIONS to Oralia Alvarez (Peer Partners for Health program), Leslie Ruvalcaba (Peer Partners for Health program) and Marina Gonzalez (Choices Day Treatment Intensive program) on their recent achievement of becoming Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialists. They have successfully passed their Peer Certification exam and are the first three individuals in Monterey County to become certified. They have undergone a rigorous certification process, and we are proud of their achievement. Certified Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialists provide recovery-oriented, culturally appropriate services that promote engagement, socialization, self-sufficiency, self-advocacy, natural supports, and are trauma aware.
