Spring is the time for hope, renewal and making a fresh start. The days start to get warmer, flowers bloom, animals seem to wake up, in fact, the whole earth seems to awaken and come alive.
People also seem to awaken from their winter “hibernation” as well and are more conscious of their health and well-being. We go outdoors more, we’re more aware of our health and how to improve it. Studies over the years have indicated that being outdoors, out in nature, makes people happier, calmer, healthier and more energetic.
So, make a conscious effort to get outdoors every day, even for 20-30 minutes. You’ll feel the physical and emotional effects, including feeling less stressed and more energized with a little “spring” in your step.
Also remember that good health habits affect all areas of your life. When we care for our mental health, our physical health follows. So it’s important to take time to relax, gather your thoughts and practice mindfulness and self-care.
