Shelter Cove
Shelter Cove is a transitional housing program for 36 homeless adults living with psychiatric disabilities. Located in Marina, the two-year program is designed to help residents learn the skills they will need to successfully transition to independent living.
Shelter Cove staff provide case management and mental health services to residents. Daily groups are also available to residents who are in need of additional support. Shelter Cove has eight 4-bedroom units and two 2-bedroom units. Residents have private bedrooms and share the common living areas. A daily dinner service is provided for all residents and served in the community room/dining hall. Participants are expected to pay 30 percent of their income as rent and pay a fee for meal service.
Staff includes a resident manager who is on-call at night for emergencies. Participants are required to manage their own medications, prepare their own breakfasts and lunches, do their own shopping, budgeting, and laundry, and to care for their own units.
