Interim’s OMNI Resource Center Celebrates 10 Years

Over 70 people gathered December 9th to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the OMNI Resource Center. The Center is a peer and family member run mental health wellness center. The Center has grown over the years, and now provides support to hundreds of people suffering from mental health challenges every year. In addition to being a drop-in resource center, staff and volunteers organize learning workshops, support groups and social events designed to foster a sense of community and encourage peer supported recovery. In addition to a celebratory birthday lunch, cake and games, the Center’s volunteers and guests shared testimonials of how the Center’s programming has supported their recovery and growth. OMNI Resource Center Coordinator, Lisa Corpuz, beamed, “I am so proud to be a part of the work we do here. We really strive to create a sense of community for this population. Our volunteer base, which is entirely made up of peers, has really taken ownership of and are invested in the programming that occurs here. It’s really their center.”
